Baked Meatballs and Spicy Tomato Sauce by Food Blogger Tea and Adventure

One of my classic go to dinners is baked meatballs. It's super easy to make, great for the whole family, delicious and nutritious. So I'm sharing with you the secret of this fuss free supper, made extra special with the addition of English Provender's Hot Chilli and Red Pepper Chutney.

You'll need

Sauce

Meatballs
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 lemon (zest)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 chopped red onion
  • Cheese (to taste)

How to make

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add onion and garlic and fry for 6 minutes.
  2. Add the tomatoes, puree and chutney and leave on a low heat for about 40 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare your meatballs by combining all of the ingredients in a bowl and rolling into small balls.
  4. Fry the meatballs with oil in a hot pan until brown and then drop into your sauce and cook for 5 minutes. 
  5. Transfer to an ovenproof dish and top with cheese. Bake for 10 minutes until the cheese melts.
  6. Serve with crusty bread or pasta and a green salad. Yummy.
